DESCRIPTION:
The Williston STAR Fund Childcare Facility Grant provides financial assistance to new and existing licensed childcare providers in Williston, ND, to support facility improvements, equipment purchases, and compliance costs. Eligible projects include construction, renovations, furniture, fixtures, and other expenses related to establishing or enhancing childcare operations.
ELIGIBILITY:

Must be a licensed child care facility or in the process of obtaining licensing through the State of North Dakota.

Grant is a 1:1 matching fund (recipients must provide an equal amount of funding).

Eligible expenses include fixtures, furniture, equipment, construction-related buildout costs, and permit compliance-related costs.

Receipts must be submitted for reimbursement.

Providers who receive Mini-Match dollars must remain in operation for at least two years from the application date. Failure to do so will result in a pro-rated return of grant funds to the STAR Fund.

New and existing providers who receive startup assistance through the Mini-Match program are ineligible for the annual assistance grant for two years after becoming licensed.

Applications require building department approval, fire department approval, planning & zoning approval, a completed business plan, and a W-9 form. Flex PACE assistance may also be available for childcare providers. Estimated cost and timeline for project completion must be provided.
