At Rooted Counseling, Victoria Anderson is driven by a deeply personal mission—to provide the kind of care that founder Victoria Anderson would choose for her own family and friends.
“Growing up in a family where mental health and substance use were present, I witnessed firsthand how these challenges shape lives. My own experiences, along with those of my siblings—four out of five of whom also became therapists—deepened my commitment to this work,” she said.
With deep understanding and empathy for her clients, Victoria launched Rooted Counseling. Having no formal business background—just a goal and the determination to make it happen.
“Within six weeks, we had a waitlist, showing just how great the need was in our community.”
Today, Rooted Counseling continues to fill critical gaps in care, especially for adolescents, offering support where few or no options exist. For Victoria, success isn’t about accolades—it’s about impact. Seeing her clients achieve their goals and receive support is what drives her forward.
“Personally, success for me comes in the form of joy, knowing that I have the flexibility to drop my kids off at school, pick them up every day, and be present for all their needs.”
Looking ahead, Victoria is working with the Department of Human Services to obtain additional licensure, allowing Rooted Counseling to expand and hire more staff.
“By growing our team, we can provide more support to clients and their families, ensuring they receive the care they deserve while continuing to bridge the gaps in our community,” Victoria says.
In the Fall of 2024, Victoria joined NDWBC’s Business Leadership Intensives program, a ten-session course tailored for driven entrepreneurs pursuing growth, impact, and community engagement.
“The program deepened my understanding of my business’s audience, marketing needs, financials, leadership style, and strategies for navigating difficult conversations. I have often found challenging discussions to be an area of struggle, but the dedicated week on this topic—covering techniques, delivery, and nonverbal communication—proved to be especially timely. It provided me with a structured approach to handling difficult conversations, which I was able to immediately integrate into my daily operations, enhancing both my leadership and decision-making abilities,” she recalls.
The insights she gained have increased her capacity to lead more effectively and make strategic decisions for her business.
With passion, dedication, and the right support, Victoria is accelerating her ability to bridge gaps in her community’s mental health care system.
The NDWBC team is proud to spotlight her work and celebrate the impact of Rooted Counseling.
