DESCRIPTION:

• The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program provides financial assistance to eligible units of local governments in the form of grants and loans for public facilities, housing rehabilitation and economic development projects. The primary beneficiaries of these projects must be very low and low income individuals.

ELIGIBILITY:

• Eligible projects must also be consistent with at least one of the program’s national objectives:
  • Benefit low and moderate income persons.
  • Aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight.
  • Activities designed to meet community development needs having a particular urgency.
